Smashana Bhairava : Shree GuruDeva Shyama Khyapa. Part 2 - MahaKal Bhairava’s guiding hand
Smashana Bhairava : Shree GuruDeva Shyama Khyapa
* Part 2 - Maha Kala Bhairava’s guiding hand
Shree Guru ShyamaKhyapa always had the grace of the Avatara Purusha Bamdev. Bamdev is none other than the very soul born as Maha Kala Bhairava to be held by the Divine Mother Adi Shakti as her own baby. The love that Maa Adya carries towards the divine masculine energy can be viewed in any form as the love that exists between a wife and husband or between a mother and son. The very reason behind the birth of Bamdev was to be the masculine counterpart and experience that motherly love.
The story of Bamdev is a sequel to a prior incident wherein Maa Adi Shakti took the form of the Divine Mother Tara. It was specifically for the purpose of soothing the burning throat of MahaDeva, that resulted from the consumption of halahala in the Samudra Manthana. This act of eternal love isn’t a sole occurrence but there are many such instances that manifests in different realms with different storylines.
In our present reality, we get to witness the continuation to the above story in Tarapith between Maa Tara and her divine son Bamdev. Maa Tara got to experience everything that a physical mother would do in the earthly plane. Bamdev as the Avatara of Maha KalaBhairava, gave immense love towards Maa Tara like an innocent child would to its Mother. She fed him her food before it was offered to her as Prasad in her garbagriha, because a true Mother would always think about her child before herself.
Maa Tara looked after her son in Tarapith until his last days in this physical realm. Now we know that he is forever merged with her as her MahaKala Bhairava in the cosmic plane. This very grace of Maa Tara along with Bamadev was the very blessing in the Sadhana journey of Guru ShyamaKhyapa.
The love shared by the ever compassionate Maa and Bamdev is nothing but the projection of the same eternal love. Hence there is no doubt in comparing this to the love that Bamdev shares with all his disciples even today, the eternal Shiva-Shakti Love. The Guru-Shishya bond is an extension of it as well. Hence, even within Guru ShyamaKhyapa this Eternal Love was ever present as he quickly decided to revive a dead young man in Tarapith Smashana without thinking about consequences.
ShyamaKhyapa has the Guru tattwa of compassion wherein a Guru takes upon the Karma of his Shishyas while he expends his own prana Shakti. This is the very essence of a Guru’s grace which is also a prime quality of MahaKala Bhairava when he used his left finger nail to decapitate the fifth head of Brahma to give him Gyana beyond the vedas. Later on, for the next 12 years, he had to do the Paschathapa of the incurred Karma(BrahmaHatya).
The one who gives the Gyana also payed for the Karma for giving such Gyana. Thus, when Bhairava holds the hand of his Bhaktas, he gives the Gyana but at the same time he burns their Karma. His grasp is unshakeable like his own Brahma Kapala, with which he roams all the Lokas to attain Moksha in Kashi. Likewise, he leads his Bhaktas as their Guru until they reach the State of Kashi in order to place Maa Adi Para Shakti within themselves.
The guidance by Bamadev to Guru ShyamaKhyapa is also a divine play. Bamdev would covey his messages to Guru ShyamaKhyapa organically since the beginning. It continued all the way till Guru ShyamaKhyapa got the very Darshana of the MahaKala Bhairava Avatara. The very first revelation of the path to attain Bamdev as a Guru was also a message sent through a young man’s Atma. Later on, another important message was given to him through an old Sadhaka, just before he got the Darshana and GuruMantra deeksha. The ever compassionate Guru Bamdeva always held Guru ShyamaKhyapa hands while guiding him in his Sadhana journey.
