Journey towards Maa Adya

Journey towards Maa Adya:

Today, many Devi temples are crowded bottlenecks where all go to pray. If one gets to even see the diety after standing in a long queue equates to winning a trophy and hence achieved the grace of the Goddess. Since when did temples become a competitive zone I wonder.

The crowd makes one forget why they went to the temple in the first place, probably to get some peace and quiet or to disconnect oneself from the daily grind. I see no peace and quiet in the crowds only people swearing at each other and using physical force to make way for themselves. There is nothing wrong in searching for Maa in temples and Kshetras, there are here for a reason. They help one connect with that form of Goddess you go in search of. Her Shakti is present there in any form that you say she represents. But the twist is that, she shows herself not at the moment of push or pull but when you search for her outside the temple, within you and in your own life.

If you constantly quest for having her presence even after visiting a temple, then she shows the physical path in one way or the other. But, only a few might understand that in the same path, there is also a hidden path. The path attained only through one’s unconditional love towards Shakti. Just like how MahaDeva pours his love to her always, we need to blindly trust fall into her with love.

There is always a starting point for many in the quest for Maa. Some are satisfied by being in the presence of a murti. While for others looking at a murti from very far away through the naked eyes is not enough. You want to be more closer and have a personal connection with the Goddess.

Eventually, there might come a time where you run to her in your dark times having nowhere to go. So organically we reach out to the Goddess in any familiar temple. With no energy left to even get back up, we do all kinds of penance without any knowledge, just by looking at other people do it. The self is broken yet undefeated.

The pain within onself and the extenal world keeps you constantly calling upon that Shakti only. Eyes filled with tears life, blinded by thoughts that disappear only when her name is called upon. A sole thread of hope attached to that very Goddess, that Shakti of a familiar temple. But, that thread is a infact a rope that pulls your whole being. You reach a point where you even dream of having the diety with you. She is deeply ingrained in your subconscious mind and you call her out even during a nightmare. No mantra or yantra, just the name. Not even having light a diya ever before or aware of any rituals per se. She has already took control and you are not aware of it. You might be clouded from within to even recognise her.

Maa will pull you through thick and thin with that very rope you thought was a thread. She will make you think about her on repeat. She will make you light a diya and sit for a mantra japa without wasting a second. She makes you to bulid the fearless foundation to eventually place her within. Information flows from all sources on how to do upasana. You pick up bits from here and there and incorporate in your own journey from Bhairva as the foundational deity. But not really aware of how to call upon her and do her upasana. This would be a thought always linger in mind.

Finally, Maa moves into your reality like a swift Khadga and cuts through all the thick shells you have created from within. You are not even aware of it until you sit to connect all the dots. You lose any false narrative and everything else that was attached to it. You are literally on the funeral pyre and everyone is done seeing you burn on it and return to their own realities. You burn and see yourself not alone but with her holding that very rope, unburnt, to make you realise who she is.

Who found whom?

We found Maa or Maa found us?

Maa knows when you are ready to take back your rope and use it to pull her within you. The roles have changed and you have took charge of everything. You become more focused and disciplined. She makes her way through every action of yours. You begin to see her in everything that you once thought was working against you.

The womb is her and the smashana is hers. To die and to be born in the same grabha is what allows you to truly embrace Maa. One fine day you will realise that everything is her divine play. She will show her true form as you dissolve all your fake identities. She is beyond identity and but also lives in all the identities. She loves to live through all types of beings. She loves to experience the top tier and the tier less. She dwells in every person who is aware or unaware of her. She is in the murti and beyond the murti in which you once called for her.

Now, even the very form or murti to whom you weeped and begged, tells you that it was always a gateway to Maa. Just remember where you came from and how you got to her. Never forget when Maa watched over you in whichever form you called her as. She was always there until one day you got to see her closeup in your own personal space due to her unconditional love and grace.
