An Unknown Tantric part-2

Our protagonist, burning with fire inside, began the mantra japa of Bamdev. For eight long years he continued without break, sankalp after sankalp, vow after vow. He did not care whether his family had eaten, whether friends remembered him, or if anyone even spoke his name. He was lost in his sadhana, burning in his own chita, alone, while the world slowly turned its face away.

They called him a ক্ষ্যাপা পাগল. A failure. One who abandoned everything for nothing.

But through all this, his Shakti never turned against him. She never complained, never spoke a word of blame. While he wandered from cremation grounds to temples in search of the Unknown, she silently carried every weight, fed every empty stomach, faced every silence without breaking.

That is Kali’s kripa on a true sadhaka.

When the smashan is invoked by someone in a bloodline, the fire touches everyone connected to him. And yet, his Bhairavi remains. Ma may light the chita herself, but she will never let her children go unfed. She is both Mahalakshmi and Annapurna. She burns. She nurtures. And she never forgets.

After eight years of relentless tapassya, something shifted in him. He became drawn toward nakshatras. Their patterns began to speak to him. With specific constellations in hand, he returned once again to Tarapith.

At a roadside tea stall, he met an old tantric.

You’re a sadhaka too? the man asked. Come with me. I have a small prayog to do on the Ugratara chita. You do your japa, I’ll do my work. No one will disturb the other.

He agreed.

That night, they both went to the mahasmashan, to the Ugratara chita. Around 10 or 10:30 PM it began to rain heavily. Those who have been to Tarapith know how high the main chita stands. Even that was half-submerged in water. Then the old tantric said to him:

My work is done here. I’m heading home now. But you must not leave your asana tonight. Even if you die, die here. But do not leave your seat. Whatever you’re seeking will come to you tonight.

And with that, the tantric left him, alone, in the thunderstorm, seated on the chita of Tarapith smashan. His voice echoed from the distance:

আসন ছাড়বে না আজ। যাই হোক, যা চেয়েছো, সব আজই পাবে

(Don’t leave your asana tonight. No matter what happens, whatever you’ve sought, you’ll receive it all tonight)

Based on a true incident
