An Unknown Tantric
There is still a tantric living in Kalika’s own land, Bengal, who once used to be a big businessman. One day, during his visit to Pashupatinath, he received an awakening call. Someone was calling him from far beyond. At that exact moment, he decided to leave everything behind. He handed over his large business, his cars, everything to his friend. He left his wife and children. From a big house, he walked away into a little cottage. He set out in pursuit of that mysterious voice that had once called him.
He arrived at Tarapith in search of Tarini, as he had been a Kali bhakta since childhood. There, he began wandering the smashan (cremation ground) while chanting the mantra of Tara, seeking mantra siddhi. But the young man was too restless to sit in one place and complete his japa. Instead, he kept roaming from the cremation ground to the temple to Mundamalini Tola in search of Ma.
Years passed like this, but none of his efforts bore fruit. Still, he continued his mantra japa.
One day, a cancer patient who used to consume the sacred mud of the Tarapith cremation ground fell severely ill in front of the young man. Without thinking twice, he used all the japa shakti of that day on that man, thus breaking his sankalp.
After reviving him, the man asked, “Why did you waste all your japa on me? You’ve just thrown away all your kripa.”
The young man replied, “It doesn’t matter. I have saved you, and that is enough for me. But can you tell me if there’s someone I can take as my guru?”
Surprisingly, the man answered, “There is no one here who can give someone of your capability diksha.
এই তারা-থারা-তে সময় নষ্ট করছো কেন বেকার?
(Why are you wasting your time with this Tara-Tara nonsense?)
বামের জপ করো, বামদেবই একমাত্র তোমায় বাঁচাতে পারবে।
(Chant Bam’s name. Only Bamdev can save you.)
এসব তারা-থারা করো না, কারণ কান টানলে মাথা আসবে।
(Stop all this Tara-Tara. If you pull the ear, the whole head will come.)
বামদেব বাবার জপ করো।
(Chant the name of Bamdev Baba.)”
He then gave him Bamdev’s mantra to begin his japa.
(Based on a true incident)
